Türkiye'nin yaklaşık 3,3 milyar ton bor rezervine sahip olduğunu ifade eden Bursa Teknik Üniversitesi Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi Doç. Dr. Nazlı Akçamlı Kaya, "Dünyanın yüzde 76 bor rezervini elinde bulunduran Türkiye, savunma ve hava sanayiinde hızla ilerliyor. Türkiye, yaklaşık 550 yıllık bor rezervini de elinde bulunduruyor. Bursa'nın Kestelek bölgesinde ise bu rezervin 5,5 milyona sahip olduğunu biliyoruz" dedi. Kestelek köyü Muhtarı Kemal Doğru ise, Türkiye'deki en değerli madenin Mustafakemalpaşa ilçesinde olduğuna dikkat çekti.
